For our production we are working with some incredible charities - for more information see below:

Way

For our stays at the Lawrence Batley Theatre and Hull Truck Theatre we are partnering with
Widowed and Young (WAY).

WAY is a UK charity that offers a peer-to-peer support network for anyone who's lost a partner before their 51st birthday – married or not, with or without children, inclusive of sexual orientation, gender, race and religion.

They will be providing materials in the foyer before and after the performances, and at Hull Truck will be joining us for a Q&A after the show.

For more information see their website here

WET

During our stay at The Lowry we are working with The Widows Empowerment Trust (WET).

WET was formed with a goal of empowering widows, promoting social inclusion, supporting through grief and fighting isolation for people of all faiths, social backgrounds and abilities. They promote social inclusion, diversity and acceptance.

They will be providing materials in the foyer and joining us for a Q&A our performance at The Lowry.

Death Cafe

We are hosting a free Death Cafe at the Lawrence Batley Theatre on 18 May - more information below:

We'll create an open space for people to discuss whatever feels most culturally urgent as far as death and dying is concerned. Our facilitator Matthew Bellwood will be presenting The Grief Series' work 'The Crossing'. The Crossing resource can act as a prompt or ice breaker to get people thinking and talking. People can stay for 5 minutes or 2 hours and depending on numbers, we'll either talk as a whole group or allow people to mingle more informally. There will be coffee and cake provided for an informal, fun, chat.
